Art Festivals are fun.....and tiring.

I now have another festival day under my belt and it feels good! August in Pennsylvania is Hot. So there's that. Talking to folks about art? - makes the day fly by even in the heat. Having someone be so drawn to a piece that they decide to take it home with them - icing on the cake. ( and honestly , that is why I go. I Love icing! .. :o)

As I sat under my tent in the summer heat, some of the best felt moments were starting conversations with children who show interest in the art, finding out what they like to do and encouraging them to have fun and create a way! The kids wondered off with a smile, but the look on the mom's faces, the tipped smile and mouthed silent "thank you!" -the best.

I have 2 more one day festivals is September - the 13th in Hummelstown, PA and the 27th in Carlisle, PA. And I am looking forward to then both. Then I will take the rest of the fall and winter months to work on creating some new pieces. I am inspired by a recent trip to South Dakota to ride motorcycles through the Black Hills and The Badlands. There were moments that took my breath away and moments of wonder about the different color palette of the area and how to possibly capture that on canvas! Well, that is some of this next seasons challenge.

Things I am coming away with as the seasons begin to shift,

take time to notice the details.... the colors, the wind, the light

a smile is the best beginning for any conversation

it costs nothing to say hello

Enjoy each day!
